Five MCU Questions Raised By Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has officially arrived in theaters worldwide, meaning it is, of [...]
Among the Gods
With the introduction of Ego the Living Planet as Peter Quill's father, the Guardians have not only interacted with a Celestial for the first time but learned how to defeat him.
In Thor: Ragnarok's trailer, one audience member within the Grandmaster's lounge area at Sakaar's gladiator arena was dressed as a Celestial, so the opportunity for Celestial stories to be furthered in the third Thor film has been presented.
However, the big question is which Celestials from Marvel Comics exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Furthermore, does their creator, Eternity exist? When Ego took over Quill's vision and his eyes turned to stars, it certainly seemed like a tease of the entity being introduced. To top it all off, Quill said, "Eternity" when describing his visions.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 had a couple of scenes which took place on Earth. One of them may have caused a plot hole within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though it could be addressed in a future film.
During Ego the Living Planet's "expansion" efforts, the seed of himself which he had planted on Earth in 1980 (34 years before the events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2) grew exponentially and began to overrun a small Missouri town.
How did none of the Avengers or characters from Agents of SHIELD acknowledge this enormous cosmic being which unexpectedly appeared on Earth, caused some serious damage, and possibly killed a few people?
prevnextBatteries Died?
At the start of the film, the Guardians of the Galaxy were found on the Sovereign defending anulax batteries from an abelisk which would have otherwise feasted on them. However, the abelisk was not the only threat to the batteries.
In exchange for their efforts protecting the batteries, Ayesha presented the Guardians with Gamora's sister Nebula. Nebula was captured trying to steal the batteries from the Sovereign, having last been seen fleeing from Ronan's ship in the original film.
Starting Vol. 2 with a clear desire to get revenge against Gamora and continuing to have an insatiable desire to kill their father Thanos, could Nebula have a plan to execute either of those wishes which involves anulax batteries? Why did she need them?

More characters than ever before want to kill Thanos.
The Mad Titan now has both of his daughters turned against him and Drax the Destroyer hungry for vengeance for his wife and daughter's deaths. Not to mention, Kraglin was made fully aware of Thanos' actions when Nebula ranted about her childhood to him.
When the time comes to take out the villain Marvel has been building towards since introducing him in the post-credits scene of The Avengers in 2012, who will do the honors? Will Drax earn his true-to-the-comics moment of punching through Thanos body or will Nebula get her hands on the Infinity Gauntlet to start righting her father's wrongs?
prevnextAdam Warlock?
Just as the mystery of "Who will play Cable?" was resolved after being introduced in the post-credits scene of Deadpool, another casting mystery has been presented to the world.
Who will play Adam Warlock?
Furthermore, what role will Warlock play in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Being sidelined for Avengers: Infinity War, the character powered by the Soul Gem in Marvel Comics has been on both sides of the fence when it comes to being a hero or being a villain. Having teamed with both Thanos and the Avengers on multiple occasions, one has to wonder whether Adam Warlock will be the enforcer Ayesha is hoping to be for Vol. 3.
