With Dragon Ball Legends adding Super Android 13 to the mobile game’s roster, Toei Animation is celebrating with a fun streaming surprise. If you are living in the United States, you can now stream the classic Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13 movie completely for free for a limited time. Following a special premiere for the stream, fans can now check it out for the next few days on Toei Animation’s official YouTube channel. Available in the English dub version of the audio, it’s a cool way to enjoy this classic without hurting your waller.

Classic Dragon Ball Z Movie Now Streaming for Free

Dragon Ball Z: Super Android 13 will be streaming completely for free with Toei Animation’s official YouTube channel in the United States from September 21st to September 24th at 12:00 AM PDT. Originally released back in 1992, Super Android 13 was the seventh film in the classic Dragon Ball Z franchise. Much like the other films seen before it (and after), this one wasn’t directly tied into the canon events of the ongoing Dragon Ball Z TV anime or manga series. But it still helped to fill in some left over gaps.

Because during the Android saga, Dragon Ball Z fans were only introduced to a few of Dr. Gero’s developed Androids. This film introduces three more, and reveals just how dangerous the titular Android 13 was before he was ultimately replaced by the more advanced, and dangerous iterations seen in the main series later. It features some memorable moments that fans look back on to this day like Goku absorbing the Spirit Bomb to become a stronger version of Super Saiyan, and definitely has a place in the most memorable releases in the franchise overall.

Unfortunately for Dragon Ball fans, the franchise seems to be put on ice for the moment. While there are still new video game releases and other franchise expansions, the state of the anime and manga’s potential future is still unclear. Following Akira Toriyama’s death in 2024, Dragon Ball Super has been put on hiatus without any sign of a potential return as of this time. There have been some new projects released in the time since like Dragon Ball Daima, but a proper continuation of the main timeline has yet to happen.

Those behind Dragon Ball have teased their interest in continuing the anime or manga after Toriyama’s passing, but movement on that front has yet to be revealed. It’s certainly something fans are interested in seeing considering that Dragon Ball Super is still netting big numbers even in the midst of this hiatus, but fans will have to hang tight until Shueisha and Dragon Ball‘s license holders figure out the right path forward for everyone involved.
