One surprising Shonen Jump series is making the jump to screens with a new anime next, and now fans have gotten the first look at what to expect with a cool first look trailer and poster. Shonen Jump has been going through a ton of changes over the past year as many of their longer running franchises have come to an end. But at the same time, their franchises are also starting to expand with tons of new anime adaptations. Now a new one from the Shonen Jump+ line is going to get its due with fans with a new anime on the way.

Joumyaku and Mizuki Yodaโsย Marriagetoxin has been a standout hit with Shonen Jump+ since it began in 2022, and the manga is now the latest from the manga app to get its own anime following the likes of hits such as Kaiju No. 8, Spy x Family and more. To celebrate the announcement for its new anime, Marriagetoxin is celebrating what’s to come with a new trailer and poster showing off the first real look at how this deadly new series is going to look in motion. Marriagetoxin Announces New Anime Coming in 2026
Marriagetoxin will be making its premiere sometime in 2026 (following a countdown leading into this new announcement), but a more concrete release date has yet to be announced as of this time. Motonobu Hori will be directing the new anime at Bones Film (the same studio behind Gachiakuta, My Hero Academia: Vigilantes and more). Kimiko Ueno will be handling the scripts for the anime, Kohei Tokuoka will be chief animation director, and Taisei Iwasaki and Yuma Yamaguchi will be composing the music. The anime will star a central duo of Haruki Ishiya as Hikaru Gero and Shion Wakayamaย as Mei Kinosaki.
As for what to expect from Marriagetoxin, the anime begins to tease itself as such via press release, “For centuries, the deadly arts have been perfected by those known as the Masters. Among them, the Poison Masters of the Five Great Families hold the most fearsome power and influence. Hikaru Gero, heir to the Poison Mastersโ Gero Family, has lived his entire life in the underworld, far removed from love or marriage. But when the Gero Family head decrees that Hikaruโs sister must bear an heir to preserve the bloodlineโby force if necessaryโHikaru resolves to protect her at all costs.”
Why You Should Watch Marriagetoxin

The synopsis for Marriagetoxin then continues with, “It is then that Hikaru encounters Mei Kinosaki, a brilliant marriage swindler who becomes the target of his latest job. Realizing that the only way of solving the family succession problem and protecting his sister is through marriage, Hikaru impulsively asks Mei for help in finding a bride.” And the story’s appeal is what is going to draw fans towards it the most.
Many of the biggest anime of the last few years have sparked from Shonen Jump+ releases, and this looks like it’s going to fall perfectly in line to continue the hot streak. Not only is the original manga hooking fans with its twist on romance and action, but the anime also has a strong production studio and staff bringing it all to life.
