“I continue to sort of write a page here and there,” McFarlane told MTV Geek at last weekend’s Toy Fair. “I’ve said before–we’ve got a guy waiting on the sidelines who’s an Academy Award-winning actor who just phones every three weeks going ‘ Todd, where’s the script? Where’s the script? Where’s the script?’.”What Academy Award winner? We’ll get to that…”So, he came out to the office; he gave me his pitch, I gave him my pitch and he’s like, ‘Oh, fine, let’s do your gig,’ and the pitch that I gave him was that we could do like ten of these for the next ten years and that he wouldn’t have to be twenty-two for the rest of his life, right?”He added that the movie would lead into an animated series, not unlike the way he did with HBO following the first Spawn film, which starred Michael Jai White.”And we’ve got ninety minutes all set, ready to go, other than just sending it to an animation house,” McFarlane said. “We’ve done all the voice recordings, we’ve done all the backgrounds and everything.”If that surprises you, you aren’t alone–MTV’s reporter on the scene seemed shocked and a little skeptical by that revelation as well. You can check out the full interview below. We’ll be looking into who McFarlane might have cast and getting back to you on that.
