We’re betting positive buzz about the movie will propel the number to above $100 million. Marvel Studios films have a history of doing exceptionally well on weekends, when family audiences turn out in droves at theaters.Captain America: The Winter Soldier opened early overseas, where it has already exceeded $100 million at the international box office. Captain America: The First Avenger opened to $65 million at the U.S. box office in July 2011, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier should crush the opening weekend of the first film. Not bad at all for an April release.
