There's a great deal of love for the Robotech franchise, and Titan Comics is giving fans a new, on-going series to sink their teeth into.
The first issue has yet to hit comic shops but the Titan team is already teasing the second issue's stylish cover, exclusively on ComicBook.
The cover (which is located in the gallery) was created by the talented Nick Roche -- who known for his pencils on books like New Warriors, Transformers, and his creator-owned IDW project, Monster Motors.
Roche is a also fan of the new franchise, making it all the easier to come up with ideas for the book's cover.
"I had an even goofier grin than usual the whole time I was drawing my first ROBOTECH cover," he said. "From all the unused sketches (one of which included the SDF-1 in full cosmic space mech mode - next time, eh...?) to inking those beautiful, beautiful Valkyries. I don't know why Titan thought my ten-plus years of working professionally on 'A.N. Other Shape-changing Robot Franchise' would make me a good choice for this cover gig, but thank the God of Fan-Dubs they did."
Roche's love of Robotech started young, and all thanks can be given to Santa.
"When I was seven, Santa brought me a Revel ROBOTECH Model Kit, and it opened my eyes to a different Mecha world than the one I'd already been indoctrinated into," he said. "I never managed to complete it, but any scalpers reading this, please go easy on me as I scour eBay for that lost slice of my childhood. I may use my paycheck from Titan to get someone to build it for me this time.
"Big thanks to Martin Eden and Chris Thompson at Titan for letting me play with their toys on this. I know for a fact there are artists that would give their replica Rick Hunter BMX helmets for a shot at a ROBOTECH cover, but for once, having a portfolio of honking great robots with chuffing huge hand-cannons paid off."

First airing in the USA in 1985, Robotech captured audiences' imaginations with its epic generational storylines involving war, romance, and, of course, the transforming Veritech fighters which defend the Earth against
