Doctor Strange Gets A New Apprentice
Life around Doctor Strange is always a bit, well, odd is the nice way to put it. When he isn't snacking on alien eyeballs to keep his strength up or keeping horrid creatures made up of his suffering in the basement, things are still never really normal.
That's why it helps to have allies you can call on in a pinch, something that Wong has always been to Strange. After events take Strange and Zelma Stanton to another dimension though, Strange ends up being poisoned.
As the enemy approaches, Stanton uses her limited knowledge of the last remaining spell book (and a nifty wand they picked up earlier in the issue) to absorb the poison, allows Strange to get them back home.
Unfortunately, her body can't deal with the poison like his can, and so to save her he has to make her like him, something Wong won't stand for. He cures Zelma, but in doing so gives her the same awareness for magic that he has.
Wong takes his leave of the Sanctum Santorum, and by issue's end, Zelma takes the role of Strange's new apprentice.

Live-Action Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe Variant Covers
Valiant has given fans their best look yet at their upcoming web series, Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe through a new series of variant covers.
The new variants grace the covers of The Rapture #2, Rai: The History Of The Valiant Universe, and Divinity #0. They will feature new looks at Derek Theler's X-O Manowar, Michael Rowe's Ninjak, Jason David Frank's Bloodshot, Alex Meglei's Archer, Kevin Porter's Armstrong, and Ciera Foster's Livewire.
"Valiant is very different. It's character-centered. It's grounded. It's subversive. It's left of center. It's quirky," Dinesh Shamdasani, CEO and CCO at Valiant Entertainment, told ComicBook.com during a visit to the set of Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe. "We wanted to include the characters that showcased to a new audience how different and exciting Valiant is and why it's something equal to Marvel and DC and so these are the characters, our biggest characters and our most exciting characters to showcase the Valiant tonality.
You can take a look at all the covers here, and the covers will be available in June with the exception of Divinity #0, which hits in August.
