Playing a world-renowned superhero is hard - just as Ezra Miller. The young actor landed the role of a lifetime when Warner Bros. cast him to play Barry Allen/The Flash in the DC Extended Universe. Right now, Miller is busy prepping for the Flash's solo film after spending months filming Zack Snyder's Justice League. With his busy schedule, fans might wonder how Miller has time to learn about his coveted role, and the actor is now saying that he relies a lot of Geoff Johns' guidance in that department.

In a recent interview with Collider, Miller said that Johns was definitely a good guy to have on set.

"Yes, he's a good guy to have around," Miller explained. "He keeps us full of information and he keeps us from making ignorant mistakes that would upset the fans across the world because you pretty much can't get someone with a deeper knowledge of this universe than Geoff Johns."

If you are not familiar with Geoff Johns, then you should know the man is the president of DC Entertainment and chief creative officer of DC Comics. Known for his writing, Johns made the leap to live-action affairs when he worked on Smallville. He then made his big screen debut as a co-producer on 2011's Green Lantern. These days, Johns is heavily involved with the fledgling DC Extended Universe. He executive produced Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and will co-produce Justice League. He is also co-writing a Batman script with Ben Affleck while advising projects such as Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman.

Clearly, Johns is a nice guy to have around if Miller or anyone else on set has questions about The Flash. Still, Miller has his own research he's embarking on - and it is pretty intensive.

During his interview, Miller spoke about his work on The Flash and revealed how he created his iteration of Barry Allen. "I've been investigating and composing the character since the moment I started considering doing the screen test," he said.

"Fortunately, a lot of that research is extremely fun and involves reading Flash Comics and other comics from the world of DC, The Brave and the Bold, and I'm really interested in the early history and some of my favorite stuff is Silver Age. Even the Golden Age and the Jay Garrick stuff, the original Flash. It's just so fascinating, so endlessly compelling. It's such an incredible set-up for exploration, all these fascinating concepts in physics, in mysticism, in fantasy...he can go anywhere. He's that figure of the DC pantheon who transcends the realms, sort of like Hermes or Mercury before him in the respective Greek and Roman mythologies that the character's (creator) Gardner Fox clearly very much based (him on)."

But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
