The two most popular members of Task Force X are coming to Injustice 2. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today released a new trailer debuting Harley Quinn and Deadshot in the superhero fighting game sequel.
Harley Quinn is a returning character from the original Injustice: Gods Among Us. Deadshot was previously only playable in the Injustice mobile game, making Injustice 2 his console debut. Considering Harley and Deadshot are the two leading characters of Warner Bros.' Suicide Squad movie, it is no surprise that they're being featured in Injustice 2.
Harley Quinn and Deadshot are joining a fighting game roster that has already been confirmed to include Aquaman, Atrocitus, Batman, Blue Beetle, Flash, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, Superman, and Wonder Woman. Fans have speculated, based on an Easter egg in the game's first trailer and on some hints from NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon, that Captain Cold and Swamp Thing may also be featured in the game, though NetherRealm and WB Games have not confirmed.
Injustice 2 continues the story of Injustice: Gods Among Us "as Batman and his allies work towards putting the pieces of society back together while struggling against those who want to restore Superman's regime. In the midst of the chaos, a new threat appears that will put Earth's existence at risk. Players can play from the biggest DC roster ever offered in a fighting game, from classic fan favorites such as Batman, Superman, Supergirl and Aquaman, to astonishing new villains like Atrocitus and Gorilla Grodd. Battles will take place across arenas that have evolved in scale and span across iconic locations such as Metropolis, Gotham City and Atlantis."
Injustice 2 comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.
