The CW’s superhero hit Arrow began production on its sixth season today and star Katie Cassidy is giving fans a behind the scenes look in a photo she shared on Twitter.

In the photo Cassidy, who returned to Arrow last season as Earth-2’s Laurel Lance, the villainous Black Siren, is in the makeup chair presumably preparing to get into character. Cassidy captioned the photo “Back at it!”

Cassidy had previously been a series regular on Arrow from its debut as Laurel Lance, Oliver’s love interest during the show’s first season before transitioning to working in the District Attorney’s office by day and taking big sister Sara’s place on Team Arrow by night as Black Canary. The character’s death at the hands of Damien Darhk in season 4 initially appeared to end Cassidy’s work on the show, but it was announced in March that she would return as Black Siren both for the final two episodes of the fifth season and as a series regular for the upcoming sixth season.

Cassidy’s photo no doubt has fans excited to find out what comes next after season 5’s shocking cliffhanger and just how “Evil Laurel” will interact with Team Arrow, or what’s left of it, when the show returns this fall.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim also, more officially, announced the start of production by tweeting a script page, which revealed the episode to be written by Guggenheim and his co-showrunner Wendy Mericle, and directed by James Bamford, the show’s stunt coordinator and fan-favorite director.

After a violent shipwreck, billionaire playboy Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) was missing and presumed dead for five years before being discovered alive on a remote island in the North China Sea. He returned home to Star City, bent on righting the wrongs done by his family and fighting injustice. As the Green Arrow, he protects his city with the help of former soldier John Diggle (David Ramsey), computer-science expert Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards), his vigilante-trained sister Thea Queen (Willa Holland), Deputy Mayor Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), brilliant inventor Curtis Holt (Echo Kellum), and his new recruits, street-savvy Rene Ramirez (Rick Gonzalez) and meta-human Dinah Drake (Juliana Harkavy).

Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his “family”.

Based on the characters from DC, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Supergirl”), Marc Guggenheim (“DC’s Legends of Tomorrow,” “Eli Stone”), Wendy Mericle (“Desperate Housewives,” “Eli Stone”), Andrew Kreisberg (“The Flash,” “Eli Stone,” “Warehouse 13”) and Sarah Schechter (“The Flash,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”).
