New character promos for the cast of Suicide Squad have been popping up on social media all day, but it looks like they saved the clown prince of crime for last.

In the new promo, Joker delivers the line from heard in the original trailer. “I’m not gonna kill ya. I’m just gonna hurt ya. Really…really…bad.” Jared Leto’s take on the Joker looks to be equal parts vicious and unhinged, with of course a little nutso crazy thrown in. You can see this in action in his mannerisms when he growls the middle of that line. It’s a bit off-putting, but that is the idea here.
I imagine I’m not the only one excited to see Leto’s take on the longtime Batman villain, and the word from early screenings is tending towards the positive. Early tracking for the film estimates it could take in $125 million on opening weekend, a number which DC and Warner Bros. executives would no doubt love.

It feels good to be badโฆAssemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
