President Lynda Carter Debuts In New Supergirl Clip

The CW Television Network has released the first clip from this Monday's episode of Supergirl, which is titled "Welcome to Earth."

It begins with Supergirl landing on a National City airport tarmac, where a group of people have gathered to welcome Madam President Olivia Marsdin (played by Lynda Carter). When the president steps out of Air Force One, her security detail and Supergirl are attacked by a powerful and elusive threat. Luckily, Supergirl uses her cape to protect the president from being assassinated, but the attacker gets away.

An attack is made on the President (guest star Lynda Carter) as hot-button, alien vs. human rights issues heat up in National City. Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and the DEO are assigned to protect the President and bring in the responsible party. Alex (Chyler Leigh) teams up with Detective Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) to investigate the case while Kara searches for a recently escaped Mon-El (Chris Wood), who she fears may be the alien behind the assault.

Tank Girl and Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare director Rachel Talalay, who recently helmed the "Fast Lane" episode of The Flash, directed the episode, which was written by Jessica Queller and Derek Simon.

International Television Distribution, SUPERGIRL is executive produced by Greg Berlanti (Arrow, The Flash), Ali Adler (The New Normal), Andrew Kreisberg (The Flash, Arrow) and Sarah Schechter (Blindspot, The Mysteries of Laura). Supergirl is based on the characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and appearing in DC Comics, by special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel Family.

"Welcome to Earth" episode of Supergirl will air Monday, October 24 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
