The Flash panel began with a sneak peak from the new season, featuring Iris West taking a bigger leadership role on Team Flash. It also hinted at Barry Allen's return from the Speed Force after a new villain comes to Central City, demanding his presence.
Tiffany Smith from DC All Access introduced the panel members including EP Todd Helbing, Keiynan Lonsdale, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Grant Gustin, Tom Cavanagh, Danielle Panabaker, and Carlos Valdes.
Panabaker hinted that fans would see both versions of Caitlin Snow and Killer Frost. She mentioned she loved playing a villain.
Gustin said he and the rest of the cast knew that Barry Allen was Savitar early on because he is bad at keeping secrets. He spoke about the challenges of playing different versions of himself.
Cavanagh spoke about the different versions of his character, hinting that we'd see more of the actor on the show's future. "There's a thousand different Wells and I'm sure we'll meet more as the show goes on."
Patton said she knew early on her character would survive "because of Grant Gustin." He really is bad at keeping secrets.
Martin spoke about the musical episode, saying his favorite part was working with Victor Garber from the Legends of Tomorrow cast. He also said his love life will get "more serious, that's really all I can say."
Valdes spoke about his chemistry with Jessica Camacho as Gypsy, and he's excited to see what's coming in the future.prevnext
New Cast Members, New Villains
The cast members praised David Dastmalchian in his appearance as Abra Kadabra.
Helbing said Gypsy's father Breacher is going to show up played by Danny Trejo, causing Valdes to say he pooped his pants when he showed up.
Neil Sandilands is going to play the Thinker. "The Fastest Man Alive versus the Fastest Mind Alive," Helbing said. The tone will be lighter than Season 3.
Kim Engelbrecht will be playing The Mechanic.prevnext
Season 4 Tease
Patton teased West's leadership role, saying that she's throwing herself into the team in the wake of Barry's disappearance.
Panabaker was coy about her character in Season 4, unwilling to reveal any information about Killer Frost and Caitlin Snow's struggle.
Gustin and Lonsdale spoke about the practical advice about wearing the Flash suit, including fixing the neck and fitting into the boots.
The panel talked about their favorite moments and most of the cast said they loved the "Flashpoint" premiere.prevnext
One fan asked if Iris would play a role in getting Barry Allen out of the Speed Force and Patton said yes.
Where did the inspiration of the musical episode come from? Helbing said Greg Berlanti thought of it. A follow up asked when the next musical would come, and the producer jokingly said in Season 5, indicating there are no immediate plans in the future.
Cavanagh credited the writing team for his different portrayals of the many different Harrison Wells versions.
One fan asked about the possibility of seeing Cavanagh as Johnny Quick, considering one version of Wells is Jesse Quick's dad. Helbing said there is a list of characters Wells could be from the DC Universe.
That last question brought the panel to a close.prevnext
The Flash's fourth season premieres on The CW on Tuesday, October 10th, at 8/7c.
Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) lived a normal life as a perpetually tardy C.S.I. in the Central City Police Department. Barry's life changed forever when the S.T.A.R. Labs Particle Accelerator exploded, creating a dark-matter lightning storm that struck Barry, bestowing him with super-speed and making him the fastest man alive — The Flash.
But when Barry used his extraordinary abilities to travel back in time and save his mother's life, he inadvertently created an alternate timeline known as Flashpoint; a phenomenon that gave birth to the villainous speed god known as Savitar, and changed the lives of Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Wally West (Keiyan Lonsdale) forever.
With the help of his adoptive father, Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), his lifelong best friend and love interest Iris West (Candice Patton), and his friends at S.T.A.R. Labs — Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes), C.S.I Julian Albert (Tom Felton), and an Earth-19 novelist named H.R. Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) — Barry continues to protect the people of Central City from the meta-humans that threaten it.0comments
