We're live recapping the newest episode of Supergirl, so keep updating for all the action from this week's episode.

--

The episode opens with a cute montage of Kara getting Mon-El ready for his first day of work at CatCo, under the alias of "Mike". Mike makes an impression on James and James' assistant quickly, but he seems a bit confused about how this whole "secret identity" thing works. He also doesn't know how phones work.

Maggie and Alex bond over drinks at the alien bar, and Maggie mentions that her girlfriend broke up with her. Maggie gets moody in a hurry and says that she's going to go home to drink something stronger.

As James and Kara get coffee, a car filled with bank robbers almost hits them. Supergirl "flies" in to save the day, but one of the robbers pulls out a ray gun that knocks Supergirl on her butt. James tries to fight one of the robbers, but he doesn't fare any better than Supergirl. With Supergirl and James both down for the count, the robbers make their getaway and run over James' camera in the process.

The DEO discover that the guns were alien in origin, but the robbers were definitely human. Cadmus suddenly sends out a transmission, claiming that the robbery was the "alien's" fault, and that not locking the aliens up will cause only more chaos.

Back at CatCo, Kara argues with an employee who wants an alien gun to defend himself from "superpowered freaks". James breaks up the argument, but admits that he doesn't know how he can help Kara with Cadmus. Kara also explains to Mon-El that he can't take advantage of James' assistant (who clearly has a crush on him) before Lena stops by to invite Kara (and Mon-El) to a LexCorp gala.

Winn finds out that the robbers are staging another attack, so Alex calls Supergirl into respond. Supergirl disarms one of the robbers, but another robber shoots a cop car into the atmosphere, forcing Supergirl to chase after it and save the police officer stranded inside.

The Cadmus chief meets with the robbers and warns him that he's picking targets that are too big. She explains that she gave the robbers guns to sow fear and discontent into the populace and then gives the head robber (named Minor?) a really big gun to replace the one Supergirl broke.

Back at the crime scene, Alex pushes Maggie to hang out with her, but Maggie quickly thinks that Alex is hitting on her. Alex gets flustered, claims that she's not gay, and then leaves in a hurry.

At CatCo, James tells Kara that more people want to repeal the Alien Amnesty Act as a result of the recent robberies. Kara uses her super hearing to find where Mon-El disappeared to and (to her disgust) finds him in a storage closet fooling around with James's assistant. Kara chews Mon-El out for not fitting in and tells him that if he doesn't want to fit in, he should find another mentor.

James visits Winn at DEO and asks how their hunt for the robbers go. Winn offhandedly mentions that they had a lead that the robbers were casing the Federal Reserve, but that he thought it was a dead end.

James checks out the Federal Reserve just in case and sees the robbers break into the bank. James uses a baseball bat to take out two of the robbers, but Miner gets the upper hand with his giant gun. James uses an impromptu shield to survive, but Miner blasts an entire apartment building to send it crashing down on James. James manages to get all of the residents out in time and then quickly makes a getaway before the police arrive.

The next morning, Winn confronts James about his nighttime activities. James admits that he's tired of being a sidekick while his best friends are heroes. James asks Winn to make him a superhero suit and weapon, but Winn refuses at first. James says that he's not going to stop, but Winn says that he's just going to get himself killed.

Alex stops by Kara's apartment and rants to her about Mon-El. Alex reminds her that when they were kids, Alex tried to make Kara conform to all her likes and dislikes too and suggests that Kara needs to let Mon-El find himself. Alex says that she wants to tell Kara something, but she gets interrupted when Lena stops by and asks for a favor: she wants to talk to Supergirl.

Miner "summons" the head of Cadmus and says that he wants to attack Lena's gala. The head of Cadmus says that's a bad idea and refuses to give him any more weaponry.

That evening, Supergirl stops by Lena's office, where Lena officially invites the hero to her party. Supergirl accepts, but realizes that she was already supposed to attend as Kara.

Kara brings Winn to the gala and to help her pull off "Operation Doubtfire" and show up at the party as both Kara and Supergirl. After fooling Lena, Kara accepts a dance from Mon-El before Miner's gang of robbers show up. As Supergirl fights the robbers, Winn runs under the stage, where he sees Lena trying to turn on a device that will shut off the weapons. Winn realizes that Lena set a trap for a robbers and helps her get the device working. Jimmy tries to fight one of the robbers, but Supergirl rushes in to save him before he gets shot. As the robbers close in on Supergirl, Lena turns on her device and disarms Miner, instantly ending the threat.

As Maggie hauls Miner and his gang away, the Cadmus chief kills them remotely before they can give away her identity.

Winn shows up at CatCo and agrees to help Jimmy become a hero. Winn says that he realizes that being a hero is "addictive" and that he would feel bad if Jimmy died. Jimmy mentions that he already has a superhero name in mind.

Kara visits Mon-El and says he was fired from CatCo. She admits that she pushed him a little, and encourages him to find his own path.

Alex visits Maggie at the alien bar and says that she can't stop thinking that maybe Maggie was right about Alex being gay. Alex gets flustered again, and then quickly leaves.

Supergirl arrives at LexCorp and says that Lena was brave for springing that trap on Miner's gang. Suddenly, the HEAD OF CADMUS shows up to meet Lena. After Supergirl flies away, Lena reveals that the head of Cadmus is actually her mother!!!

And that's it for tonight's episode.
