A major focus of the upcoming Wonder Woman will be Diana's early years as she trains alongside her fellow Amazons. That includes General Antiope, who is responsible for making Diana the fiercest warrior she can be.
A new image of Antiope (played by Robin Wright) has surfaced from Empire, showing the General doing what she does best. It's unclear if she's training Diana at the moment, but whoever is on the other end of that sword better pray she has some mercy left in her. In addition to Antiope, there are two other main Amazons featured in the film, including Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielson) and Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli). With this being an origin tale, it makes sense for them to be heavily involved, but it remains to be seen if they will all be back for the sequel that Zack Snyder already teased is coming. You can view the new image in the gallery.
Wonder Woman hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action-adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
