Last weekend, Pokemon Go added several global rewards for players to reward the community for their hard work during Pokemon Go Fest. In addition to seeing several Legendary Pokemon for the first time, players were also treated to everything from double XP to extra Stardust to decreased egg hatch distances.

The Pokemon Go Fest bonuses were supposed to expire on Monday, but Pokemon Go announced they were extending the event for 72 additional hours. The event will now end on Thursday July 27 at 5 PM PT.

The bonuses include:

  • Double Stardust
  • Double Candy
  • Double XP
  • Increased Pokémon encounters
  • Reduced hatching distance
  • Reduced buddy distance

Players at Pokemon Go Fest originally unlocked the bonuses by catching specific types of Pokemon at the event, while players outside the festival determined how long the bonuses would last by catching as many Pokemon as they could. Of course, due to the major network issues and other issues at Pokemon Go Fest, Niantic likely unlocked all the rewards for trainers...especially as they were seen lowering the threshold for the rewards at the event.

Pokemon Go also unlocked two Legendary Pokemon in the aftermath of Pokemon Go Fest, although it's possible that Articuno's addition to the game is only a temporary one.
