If you've been looking to take your comic book collection on the go with you – but aren't too fond about lugging around a bag full of comics and risking them getting damaged – then Madefire has just the thing you need.

The company, which is considered number one in the iTunes book category with digital comics and unique Motion Book technology, have announced a major new addition to its line-up that will certainly get the attention of fans – DC Comics.

Madefire has reached a deal with the team that will bring "tens of thousands of back-catalogue DC favourites to the platform, as well as regularly updated new titles from DC," the company noted in a press release. With this key acquisition, Madefire expects to have over 80,000 titles available within its library.

One of the key issues that will be appearing on the service is Dark Knights: Metal #1, and it's available now.

"As a leader and innovator in the digital comics space, Madefire has been a great partner to DC and I'm pleased this expansion will bring our extensive line-up to an even broader audience," noted DC Entertainment publisher Jim Lee. "Now, for the first time, exciting DC titles like Dark Knights: Metal will be available to Windows, Apple TV, and Android TV digital readers – all via the Madefire app."

Madefire CEO and Motion Book creator Ben Wolstenholme added, "DC is a world leader in comic book entertainment and we're incredibly excited to bring their legendary catalogue of titles to our platform. Providing a single digital destination for the entire DC experience is one thing, but we believe our five-star rated, multi-award winning platform will deliver a digital experience that does justice to the DC brand."

The team also provided additional notes. First off, the entire DC Comics catalogue won't be available all at once. However, by 2018, they estimate that there will be more than 80,000 comics available, but it's just too massive to bring over all at once.

And if you're not familiar with Madefire, the team filled in the blanks quite nicely. "Madefire is simply the best way to enjoy to enjoy comics digitally. It's the most user-friendly comic experience there is. Unlike other comic apps, Madefire allows you to make in app purchases without throwing you to a buggy browser. Buy comics while in the app and just carry on reading! Madefire allows you to enjoy your digital comics on multiple devices with a single account. Watch on just about any and every digital platform there is, including in VR via Oculus Rift! Madefire has exclusive content as well, including a range of Overwatch comics thanks to a partnership with Blizzard. Perhaps best of all, Madefire is the pioneer behind the remarkable 'Motion Book'. Many titles are available in standard format comic as well as Motion Book which adds animation, unique transitions and voice over to the titles, drawing readers in to the experience and far more enticing than static print."

Finally, the team noted that DC Comics isn't its only partner, and it's always looking for new partnerships and brands to join the team, "as well as new ways to enjoy this unique art form." They noted that things are in the works, but no new announcements are ready at this time.
