With records being shattered left and right for the Destiny 2 Leviathan Raid, the challenging event from Bungie has been in the spotlight quite a bit. We've had the celebration of the "World's First" successful completion, speedrunners constantly outdoing each others impressive times - we've even seen the amazing backstory behind Emperor Calus and Ghaul. Unfortunately, not all news was celebratory and because of the discovery of one very impactful bug that lets players enter the throne room in the Leviathan Raid without the constant respawning of enemies - the Prestige Raid (Hard Mode) has been postponed. Luckily, it's not a long wait.

Bungie team member Cozmo took to the message boards to break the news to fans and let players know what time they can expect the new mode to become available:

"An exploit has been discovered in the Leviathan Raid that causes the encounters to be stripped of their intended challenge. To allow time to fix this issue, we are delaying the start of the Prestige Raid until next week. It's important to us that the team who earns World First status doesn't have their legacy tarnished by doubt, skepticism, or uncertainty.

The new start time for the Prestige Raid is Wednesday, October 18, at 10AM Pacific."

The term "don't shoot the messenger" applies because the comment section following the announcement was not pretty. Many players find the use of exploits immoral and have been very vocal about that fact. It is amazing to see Bungie be so quick to address issues as they are found. Populated online games are no strangers to glitches, bugs, and a few issues here and there and the team behind the shooter have been on top of it since launch with weekly updates alongside a flow of new content.

The Leviathan Prestige Raid will go live at 10 AM PT on October 18th officially. Destiny 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a PC release slated for October 24th.
