We're just a few weeks away from the release of Fire Emblem Warriors for Nintendo 3DS and Switch, and hacking away at hundreds upon thousands of soldiers with our chosen hero of choice. But as impressive as the game's default roster will be, it appears that Koei Tecmo isn't done with the selection of characters just yet.

Per this report from Gematsu, the developer of the forthcoming Nintendo title has announced that it intends to release a trio of downloadable content packs for the game, which will add several new combatants and weapons to the game. The schedule is broken down as follows:

Fire Emblem Fates Add-On Pack – coming end of year 2017

Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Add-On Pack – coming winter 2018

Fire Emblem Awakening Add On-Pack – coming spring 2018

Specific characters weren't announced for the game just yet, but you can bet that a number of favorites from Fates, Shadow Dragon and Awakening will be introduced, jumping into the fray and preparing to fight against all sorts of rivals.

This strategy is nothing new, as Hyrule Warriors got plenty of downloadable content for both 3DS and Wii U following its release, though an ample amount of content was introduced with new fighters and other goodies, and most of it was free.

Pricing for each of the DLC packs is set for 1,400 yen apiece, although you can also purchase a bundle pack for 3,000 yen, and score a free bonus bride costume for Lucina, exclusive to said bundle. U.S. pricing has yet to be revealed, but the packs likely won't be that expensive.

This should add a bigger amount of variety to the game, as if the fighters that were already included aren't offering enough. You can expect a great deal of missions to take on, oriented to the Fire Emblem storyline, along with bonus content that will keep you occupied, whether you prefer the Nintendo Switch edition or the 3DS one. Whatever the case, you've got a lot of hacking and slashing ahead of you, so be prepared for a party.

Fire Emblem Warriors releases on October 20th for Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch.
