PlayStation Fans Have One Last Chance at Free PS4 Download Before Release of Ghost of Yotei

PlayStation fans have one last chance to grab a free PS4 download before the release of Ghost of Yotei next month. The Ghost of Tsushima sequel is set to release on PS5 and PS5 Pro on October 2, and as our official review of the game notes, it’s a worthy sequel to one of 2020’s best games. Unfortunately, those on PS4 will not be able to play the sequel, but they do have something they can download.

Until October 3, all PS4 and PS4 Pro users can download a special Ghost of Tsushima dynamic theme. Those on PS5 should still claim the theme, even if it can’t be used on PS5, because there is always the chance Sony will right the wrong of not having themes on PS5. And if it does, you may be able to carry over your themes from PS4. Even if this doesn’t happen on PS5, it could always happen on PS6, as it has been a feature PlayStation fans have sorely missed and have complained about to Sony throughout this generation.

One of the Best PS4 Themes

The special Ghost of Tsushima theme is a dynamic theme, which means it’s not static. More than this, it has its own special music. The only thing it doesn’t have that some dynamic themes on PS4 have is special sounds for scrolling and clicking on icons. All in all, though, it is easily one of the best dynamic themes on PS4 ever released by Sony, especially if you are a big fan of Ghost of Tsushima.

Those interested in claiming this freebie will not find it on the PlayStation Store, but will need to use one of the following codes: 5FM9-5LN6-FCM2 (Americas), 4PNM-4RNP-9C92 (Europe), 7CG-8DNC-BN6K (Asia), 8FLX-26NE-D9AA (Japan), or GHGR-L3N9-3DTQ (South Korea).

If this new freebie doesn’t tickle your fancy, the good news is that it is not the only one. Sony also recently released another PSN freebie, but this one is for both PS4 and PS5 users. Where the one above features Ghost of Tsushima, this one features Until Dawn.

While the PS4 continues to get games and even freebies, the latest report is that Sony is preparing to stop support for the last-gen console. So those still on the machine may be forced to upgrade soon, and unfortunately, if this happens, they won’t be able to take their themes with them.

All of that said, and as always, feel free to leave a comment letting us know what you think, or join the conversation over on the ComicBook Forum.
