Pokemon Go has lowered the minimum level requirement to participate in raids. The game announced that any player that is Level 20 or higher can now enter Raid Battles around the world.

Raid Battles are a new feature in which ultra-powerful Pokemon temporarily take over a gym. Players from all three teams can work together to beat the Raid Boss and earn special items and a chance to capture a powered down version of that Pokemon.

In order to participate in a Raid, players will need a Raid Pass that can either be obtained from a gym once per day or by purchasing it through the in-game store.

Pokemon Go introduced the raids last weekend for high level players only. Over the next couple of days, they lowered the minimum level requirement all the way down to Level 25. Game developers have said that raids will eventually be available to all players.

Currently, Raids are divided into four tiers of difficulty. While high level players can beat a Level 1 or Level 2 raid, multiple players are needed to take on a Level 3 or Level 4 raid. Eventually, a fifth level of difficulty will be added for Legendary Pokemon.

The raids appear pretty consistently at gyms throughout the day, with up to two hours of advanced notice about when a raid is set to begin. Once the Raid Boss appears, players have one hour to defeat it.
