Catching Pokemon Go's new Legendary Pokemon won't be an easy task. An update to Pokemon Go's GAME_MASTER file has revealed that Suicune, Entei, and Raikou will all have base capture rates of 2%, making them even tougher to catch than the Legendary Birds that appeared in the game last month.

The base capture rate stat determines how easy or hard it is to catch a Pokemon before any bonuses are factored in. While curveball bonuses, Razz Berries, and accurate throws can help increase a player's chances of catching the Legendary Pokemon, players still only have about a 16% chance per throw of catching Raikou, Suicune, and Entei even with all the bonuses factored in.

Originally, Articuno, Moltres, Zapdos, and Lugia both had 2% base capture rates, but Pokemon Go quickly increased Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos's base capture rate to 3% after they announced that those three Pokemon would each be around for about a week at a time. Lugia's base capture rate remained at 2%, probably because the Pokemon was available for over a month.

Luckily, players should have plenty of time to capture the Legendary Beasts. Each Pokemon will appear in a different multi-continent region for a month at a time before traveling to a different continent the following month. It also helps that Pokemon Go just fixed a glitch that prevented players from being able to catch a Raid Boss on their last throw.

The Legendary Pokemon are starting to spring up around the world, so get ready to battle hard and waste a lot of Premier Balls trying to catch these rare and powerful Pokemon!
