Pikachu and his friends are getting ready for Halloween. The Pokemon Company announced a new line of merchandise featuring Pikachu and some of his new friends from the Alola region dressed up in spooky outfits to celebrate the upcoming holiday.
Halloween is an annual tradition for the Pokemon franchise, as Pikachu and his friends like to dress up in fancy costumes and celebrate with a big party. Pikachu and Eevee sport different costumes every year, and other Pokemon usually like to get in on the fun.
The new merchandise line also includes Bewear, Mimikyu, Eevee, Popplio, Rowlet, and Litten, all of whom are sporting some festive costumes. Pikachu is wearing a ghost outfit for Halloween, while Bewear sports a spooky mummy costume. Litten is dressed as a bat, while Mimikyu, Popplio, and Rowlet are all wearing more generic fancy outfits for Halloween.
The actual merchandise line features Pikachu, Bewear, and Mimikyu plushes, along with earrings, pins, keychains, and pins. There's even two coffee mugs featuring Pikachu and Mimikyu. Prices range from $4 to $20 and will go on sale in Japan on September 2.
Right now, the merchandise is only available for sale at Pokemon Centers in Japan, but at least some of the merchandise will eventually make their way to the United States.
To help promote the new line of Halloween merchandise, the Pokemon Company is also distributing a Shiny version of Mimikyu at participating Pokemon Centers and Pokemon Stores. As of right now, the Shiny Mimikyu distribution is exclusive to Japan, but we could see it in the US and Europe once the Halloween merchandise goes on sale abroad.
