Last month, Internet detectives discovered a series of clues leading to what they believed was an upcoming announcement of a new Pokemon game. From t-shirt designs to hidden URLs, Pokemon fans have gotten hyped for a rumored Pokemon game for the Nintendo Switch, codenamed Pokemon Stars. If the rumors are to be believed, Pokemon Stars will be a remake of Pokemon Sun and Moon, with new exclusive Pokemon (or at least Formes) and a few new surprises in store.

We were skeptical about Pokemon Stars at first, but all this Internet sleuthing has got us convinced that SOMETHING is coming to the Pokemon franchise. The latest clue was discovered by Joe Merrick, the well-respected head of the Pokemon news site Serebii. Merrick discovered that Nintendo recently pulled down the last Pokemon Direct, which officially revealed Pokemon Sun and Moon to the world last year.

So why would Nintendo pull down one of their own videos? Well, the speculation is that Nintendo doesn't want people confused when they announced Pokemon Stars, as it's technically a remake/port/sequel to Pokemon Sun and Moon. Nintendo rarely pulls down any of their videos, although they did previously pull down the initial reveal for Pokemon X & Y as well.

Like the other "clues" pointing towards Pokemon Stars, this could be nothing...or it could be a sign that an announcement is coming this week. After all, Nintendo has traditionally made announcements about the Pokemon franchise during the second week of May, so we should know something very soon. Stay tuned and keep searching for clues, Pokemon fans!
