Definitive Versions of Genesis-Era Sonic Games Dirt Cheap on Nintendo 3DS for Limited Time

You know what? We can't find anywhere to pre-order the Super NES Classic Edition here in the U.S., but at least we still have some great sales going on. If you're craving some classic 16-bit platforming action, then you'll be glad to know that two of the best Sonic the Hedgehog games ever made are available for dirt cheap right now on the Nintendo 3DS.

I'm talking, of course, about 3D Sonic the Hedgehog and 3D Sonic the Hedgehog 2. These are, hands down, the definitive version of both of these games, and both of them are on sale for only $2.99 through the Nintendo 3DS virtual console. Pretty much all of these games are worth picking up, to be honest. We would recommend maybe staying away from Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on the Wii U, but don't let that scare you away from Sonic Boom games. Shattered Crystal was pretty good on the 3DS, and Fire & Ice actually took a lot of things that made that game decent and refined them further. Fire & Ice is actually a fun, fast Sonic game once you learn how to play it.

When all else fails, you simply can't go wrong with classic Genesis-era Sonic for $2.99. These deals all end on June 29, so you gotta go fast!
