Marvel Teases The Wedding Of The Century

Marvel Comics has released a mysterious new teaser for what the publisher claims will be the "wedding of the century.

The teaser comes in the form of a save the date for June 20, 2018. The teaser has images from some other famous Marvel Comics weddings, including that of Black Panther and Storm, Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, Cyclops and Jean Grey, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Northstar and Kyle Jinadu.

There is no hint about who will be taking part in the wedding.

Weddings can be tricky business in the Marvel Universe since they are often crashed by supervillains with a score to settle. Marriages are just as tricky, as the track record of some of these couples show.

Ant-Man and the Wasp were divorced after their marriage turned ugly. Black Panther and Storm had their marriage annulled. Jean Grey died not long after discovering that Cyclops was having a psychic affair with Emma Frost. Other marriages gone wrong include Deadpool's marriage to Shiklah, which nearly resulted in Shiklah leading a monster invasion of New York City, and the marriage between Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson, which ended with Spider-Man making a deal with Mephisto to rewrite reality to the and Mary Jane were never married.

That said, some of them last. The wedding of Reed Richards and Sue Storm solidified the Fantastic Four's place as Marvel's first family. They remain married even if they are no longer located in the Marvel Universe. Likewise, Northstar and Kyle remain happily married.
