Marvel Studios brought excitement and surprises (as usual) for its big Comic-Con 2016 panel; in addition to getting new casting details for films like Black Panther, we also saw the entire MCU get a sort of stylistic makeover, with brand new logos for each of the Phase 3 films, and a new Marvel Studios intro reel, to boot.

We also got one big confirmation on a big of casting that's been a long time coming: actress Brie Larson (Room) is playing Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel. Below you can check out the official logo for the Captain Marvel movie.

In the comics, US Air Force officer Carol Danvers' life is changed when an attempt at sabotage leaves her critically wounded. Thanks to benevolent efforts of an undercover Kree agent, Danvers is saved by alien powers that give her access to cosmic energies. She then takes up the mantle of Captain Marvel, defending Earth from Cosmic threats.

Marvel Phase 3 continues with Doctor Strange on November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming – July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2– May 3, 2019.
