Deadpool 2 director David Leitch saw Domino’s powers of probability as a challenge at first, but as he revealed to ScreenRant, that soon gave way to a slew of creative possibilities.

“(Laughs) We’re excited to play with that idea in choreography. I’m not going to give you how it’s all going to play out. As a choreographer, having a character with her abilities is really a trick. I think at first it seems like a problem. Like oh my god, how do you demonstrate luck? And then you just see it like, oh, this is the coolest opportunity ever, so we’re really excited and we’re creating really great stuff for her character.”

While her powers offer a chance to experiment in unique ways, the real star will be her personality, and specifically her chemistry and back and forth with both Cable and Deadpool.

Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld recently spoke to ComicBook.com about the casting of Zazie Beetz in the role, and what fans can look forward to as Beetz and Ryan Reynolds banter on screen.

“Domino is all about, as an actress and as the character that is going to be on the screen you already allude to it, it’s all about the sass. You gotta understand, you’re gonna go up against Wade Wilson, who is, in this movie is Ryan Reynolds and trust … I’m telling you, having been around Ryan multiple times that mouth cannot be stopped. He … it’s point … I don’t think he can say the jokes as fast as they are backed up in his head.”

Liefeld doesn’t see Beetz having an issue keeping up with Reynolds. In fact, it might be the other way around.

“So, you need … some of these people will be like “oh hey, this girl should have been Domino, and pick out actress a through z” and I’d be like “I’m not sure that they can keep up with him” and oh my gosh, I’m not sure that Ryan’s gonna keep up with her. I think Ryan Reynolds is gonna have to work hard to keep up with Zazie. I mean, wow. You just go “That chemistry is going to be spectacular”. And that’s what it comes down to is the chemistry with these characters.”

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Deadpool stars Ryan Reynolds (Deadpool/Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Zazie Beetz (Domino), Josh Brolin (Cable/Nathan Summers), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Leslie Uggams (Blind AL), Julian Dennison, and Stefan Kapiฤiฤ‡ (Colossus).

Deadpool’s Holiday Blu-ray package is now available and retails for $25.99. Logan is also on Blu-ray and DVD, while Gambit still has a release date of December 31 of 2017, though that is likely going to change. New Mutants has been announced for April 3, 2018, while Deadpool 2 will follow on June 1, 2018. X-Men: Dark Phoenix will hit theaters on November 2, 2018.
