If you thought that there couldn’t be anymore difference between Deadpool and Suicide Squad in terms of cinematic quality, then you are wrong. While most superhero movie fans would agree that one (Deadpool) ranks way above the other (Suicide Squad), both of these superhero movies are gaining major awards season acclaim.

Deadpool has been nominated for several Golden Globes, and Suicide Squad has had its soundtrack nominated for a Grammy. Now, both films are possibly in the running for Oscars, as they’ve been named on the Academy Awards nominations shortlist for Makeup.
The Wrap reports that the Oscars’ shortlist for Makeup includes the following possible nominees:
- Deadpool
- Suicide Squad
- Star Trek Beyond
- Florence Foster Jenkins
- The Dressmaker
- Hail Caesar!
- A Man Calle Ove
While geeks and superhero movie fans probably aren’t the most hardcore lovers of the Oscars Makeup category, this is a interesting in the sense that we may soon have to refer to both Deadpool and Suicide Squad as “Oscar Nominees.” Either case is pretty funny – albeit for entirely different reasons.
Both Deadpool and Suicide Squad are now on home video. The Academy Awards will be on in the first quarter of 2017; nominees will be announced early on in 2017.
