With Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 so close, the studio is doing a big final push for the marketing. That means more TV Spots, including some new glimpses of Ego, Drax, Nebula, and of course Baby Groot.
The new spots are titled "Intense", "Thrilling", and "Epic", and intertwined with all of the standard footage are a few new clips of Ego (played by Kurt Russell), as well as a few new jokes from Drax and Rocket Raccoon. If that doesn't do it for you, you can always get some delight from the dancing machine that is Baby Groot these days, who have to admit inspires some jealousy with just how much rhythm a tree evidently has.
Set to the backdrop of 'Awesome Mixtape #2,' Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team's adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. The Guardians must fight to keep their newfound family together as they unravel the mysteries of Peter Quill's true parentage. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes' aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).
Next up for Marvel is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 on May 5, 2017. Spider-Man: Homecoming lands on July 7, 2017, followed by Thor: Ragnarok on November 3, 2017. After that Black Panther debuts on February 16, 2018, while Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on May 4, 2018. Even with some forewarning from their newest member Mantis, nothing could have prepared the Guardians of the Galaxy for what they are about to face. Being stuck in the middle of a war will have that effect on just about anyone, even when you have the capable hands of Rocket Raccoon and Baby Groot on deck. Okay, the latter member is on the small side, but don't tell him that. You won't like him when he's angry.prevnext

The reviews are mostly positive, and to celebrate the studio even included a bit more of Kurt Russell's Ego in the new TV spot.prevnext
You can't hold the Guardians of the Galaxy down, so why would you even try? Critics are responding quite well to the film thus far, and in the "Epic" TV spot there's a healthy helping of new footage for fans to enjoy before the film's wide release. Seriously though, be honest, you're only watching for more great Drax quotes and more dancing Baby Groot. Who knew trees had so much rhythm?prev
