The Marvel and overall comics icon Stan Lee turned 94 today, and even at this stage of his life, the famed creator continues to be a prominent part of the industry.
Fellow creator and director Kevin Smith shared some birthday well wishes on his Twitter account for the man who created so many fantastic characters, characters that have withstood the test of time. Smith said "94 years ago, a god was born who'd bring us heroes that'd fuel both our imaginations and our aspirations. Happy Birthday to @TheRealStanLee!"
Lee helped create characters like Spider-Man, the Silver Surfer, the Hulk, and the Fantastic Four just to name a few. His footprint on the comics and the Marvel universe will forever remain, and he's even graced the big screen as part of the successful cinematic universe as well. He's had a cameo in just about every Marvel film save for a few, and he will next grace the screen in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Lee expressed his gratitude for all the kind words being thrown his way today with a recent tweet, saying "A Hearty "Thank You" to everyone for sending those birthday wishes! Here's to hoping for a happy and healthy New Year for us all! #Excelsior"
