Legion has been a boldly successful new experiment in X-Men Television, taking the concept of mutant powers and turning them into a trippy, surreal, dramatic mystery about the mind of a very troubled young man.

In the last episode, we saw the mindscape (or Astral Plane) truly come to life, as Syd Barrett (Rachel Keller) and Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris) tried to free David (Dan Stevens) from his self-imposed prison within the Astral Plane. Meanwhile, Division 3 and their mutant agent The Eye set a trap for Melanie Bird’s band of mutants, who narrowly escaped with their lives (maybe not all of them…)

In the next episode, The Yellow Eyed Monster (masquerading as Aubrey Plaza’s Lenny) seems to have gotten a tighter grip on David’s conscious mind, thanks to Division 3’s attack. As David begins to learn more and more secrets of his own mind – it doesn’t seem like the revelation goes over well.
