If you have plans to see Beauty and the Beast this weekend, then you better have seen Logan already. Should you not, then the grumpy mutant may have a few stern words for you. Even though Logan may be dominating the box-office at the moment, the X-Men flick is aware that Disney's live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast may give it a run for its money.
But, thankfully, Wolverine seems to have solution to the problem. He'll just unleash his true beastly nature.
In a brand-new TV spot for Logan, fans can watch as the movie tackles Beauty and the Beast head-on. The short clip begins with up-tempo classical music one may hear in a Disney musical. But, halfway through, a metal bass kicks in when Logan is introduced. The TV spot's tagline reads, "Some want to see the Beauty, but you should see the Beast."
So far, there's no response from Disney's camp on the threatened advert, but Logan does make it quite clear. There can only be one beast in theaters at a time, and Hugh Jackman's claws are willing to put up a dirty fight.
Logan takes place in the year 2024, where mutant births have become extremely rare. The defenders of mutant kind, the X-Men, are long gone, and the only remains of them are an old and struggling Charles Xavier and a weary Logan. Logan's vaunted healing factor has slowed, and at times doesn't seem to work at all. When a young mutant needs his help, Logan has to unsheathe his claws once more. His job isn't over yet.
Logan stars Hugh Jackman (Logan), Boyd Holbrook (Donald Pierce), Patrick Stewart (Charles Xavier), Dafne Keen (Laura Kinney/X-23), Doris Morgado (Maria), Stephen Merchant (Caliban), Elizabeth Rodriguez (Gabriela), and Richard E. Grant (Dr. Zander Rice). James Mangold is directing and helped on the screenplay along with Scott Frank and Michael Green.
Logan is now playing in theaters. Let us know with your ranking in the Movie Database below!
