Marvel Legacy #1 contained plenty of Easter eggs for fans, but one, in particular, suggests that a fan-favorite storyline might be coming into focus once more.
Spoilers incoming for Marvel Legacy #1, so if you haven't read the issue yet you've been warned.
Towards the end of the issue, the scene switches to the Alpha Flight Deep Space Monitoring Station in New Mexico. It seems there's not much going on at the moment, so much so that the spectacle of Wrestlemadness IX (nice one Marvel) draws the one remaining working agent away from his screen.
After he walks away, an incoming transmission from the Tayo Star System comes up on the screen, and it teases something pretty significant for fans of the "Planet Hulk" storyline.
The transmission reads: "Found your energy signature - zzztttt--know you're alive--zzttt--back to Sakaar! We need you! Green Scar, please hear--rrzzztt--Hulk! It's time to come home!"
That sure brings back memories, but there are a few questions that stem from the communication. Who is sending the message? Why do they need the Hulk now? Lastly, and probably the biggest question, is whether Banner is possibly still alive.
That doesn't seem likely though. He was pretty dead towards the end of the "Secret Empire" event, but perhaps there is a piece of him that survived the fight, and that's what they are picking up.
As for that first question, it could be one of Hulk's Warbound sending the message. The Warbound included Hiroim, Korg, Elloe Kaifi, No-Name, and Miek. After the crew came to Earth alongside Hulk, Miek was no longer part of the group, but the others made their way to the Savage Land and were given a ship by Banner.
It could mean they returned to Sakaar afterward, but they could also still be in the Savage Land. Also, is the energy signature actually Banner's, or is it Amadeus Cho, the new Hulk? Lots of questions here, and unfortunately not many answers.
Either way, it seems that there is a return in the offing, and it should be quite the entertaining ride.
