Rumor has it that Netflix is taking Marvel's Luke Cage to San Diego Comic-Con for a special sneak preview. According to the report from Deadline, leading man Mike Colter will be in attendance at the San Diego Convention Center, along with co-star Alfre Woodard and showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker. The rumor suggests that Netflix and Marvel Television will debut new footage from the series, which will debut on Netflix's streaming service on September 30.

Luke Cage is an ex-convict whose skin was made unbreakable by some sort of experiment. Colter debuted in the role in Marvel's Jessica Jones, where he entered into a complex romantic relationship with Jones, a super strong private investigator played by Krysten Ritter. Cage discovered that Jones was involved in the murder of his wife while she was under the sway of mind-controlling supervillain Kilgrave (David Tennant). Cage also fell victim to Kilgrave's abilities and Jones was forced to physically subdue him. After Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson) nursed Cage back to health, he fled Hell's Kitchen.

Marvel's Luke Cage will pick up with Cage living in Harlem and trying to build a life for himself. Woodard will play Mariah Dillard, a.k.a. Black Mariah, a politician and the cousin of Cornell "Cottonmouth" Stokes (Mahershala Ali). Dillard who is looking to bring change to the streets of Harlem, where she grew up.

Dawson will reprise her role as Claire Temple for the series, and Sonia Braga will make her debut as Claire's mother, Soledad Temple. Frank Whaley plays Detective Scarfe. Simone Missick will play Misty Knight and Jessica Henwick will play Colleen Wing. Together, Knight and Wing are the Daughters of the Dragons from the Marvel Comics universe. Theo Rossi plays the villain Shades.

San Diego Comic-Con takes place July 21-24.
