Despite him not being alive in the comics at the moment, the original Wolverine continues to be one of the most popular characters in Marvel's vast portfolio of renowned characters. Part of that is his rugged charm sure, but most of that popularity comes from how dangerous and effective the mutant can be in battle, a reputation he's earned ten times over in the comics and in the X-Men films.
So it would stand to reason that he would be just as popular on the collectibles market, which of course involves stunning statues from the likes of Sideshow Collectibles, Bowen, Diamond, Kotobukiya, and more. There are plenty to choose from, but there are several that stand out from the rest. Any fan would love to have one of these in their collection, and regardless of what era of Wolverine is your favorite, you'll at least have an appreciation for how incredibly stunning these statues are.
There's a bit of everything here, from the classic yellow and blue to the fan favorite brown and tan and even a few others from the more modern age, there's something here that will appeal to your tastes. Hit the next slide to check out ComicBook.com's top five Wolverine statues and where you can get them to add to your collection. Now, some of these will of course be out of print, but you can always hit up Ebay and Amazon to see if you can add one to your shelf.
While the original might not be around at the moment, Wolverine fans still have plenty of ways to enjoy the character. In the books, fans can hop aboard ALL-New Wolverine to see how X-23 embraces her new role as the Wolverine, and the book is heavily recommended. As for movie fans, you can catch Hugh Jackman in his final portrayal of the popular character in his new film Logan, which is currently sporting an 88.54 rating on ComicBook.com's composite rankings. Sideshow Blue And Yellow (Modern) Sentinel
This statue has a few things going for it. No. 1 it has one of the best costumes that Wolverine has sported over the years, but it also comes with Kitty Pryde and her trusty sidekick Lockheed. It was also part of an entire set of Sentinel statues that Sideshow put together, so if you have the others you can assemble an entire diorama.
The only downside is the sculpts themselves aren't as strong as others on this list, but it would still make a great addition to any Wolverine fan's collection. The statue stands at 14.5 inches tall and retails on Amazon for $373.66.
You can find the official description below.
Perched upon a severed Sentinel boot, Wolverine surveys the battlefield, while Shadowcat phases through the boot. Together with Kitty's pet dragon, Lockheed, they prepare to confront the next wave of mutant hunters. Completing the X-Men VS Sentinel Diorama series, the third X-Men VS Sentinel Diorama is intricately detailed, from Sentinel's exposed inner mechanisms to Lockheed's wings. Each piece is hand-cast of the highest quality polystone and hand painted to exacting standards, and the underside of each base is individually hand-numbered.prevnext
Bowen is known for more portrait style designs, opting for classic standing poses rather than action-centric dioramas. Some may see that as a negative, but they can be some of the most stunning statues in your collection, and one of those happens to be their take on X-Force Wolverine.
This is perhaps one of the slickest Wolverine designs in some time, and Bowen's simple pose and intricate sculpt hit it out of the park. Wolverine stands at around 12 inches high, and this statue is also one of the more reasonably priced entries, available on Ebay for around $250.00.prevnext
Dynamic Forces Days of Future Past
Days of Future Past continues to be one of the most popular X-Men stories, and also happens to include a rather iconic cover as well. Dynamic Forces paid homage to the cover with this fantastic diorama statue, which includes Wolverine and Kitty Pryde.
While it isn't perhaps the biggest statue or the most detailed (though it is still quite good), it perfectly depicts the classic cover, and from the character's stances to the iconic sign behind them that shows all the mutants who have fallen. If you're looking to add a piece of classic Marvel history to your collection, you really can't go wrong with this one.
The statue stands at 10.5 tall and is available on Ebay for around $195.00.prevnext
Sideshow Yellow And Blue Vs Hulk
This statue could have easily been number 1, but its biggest strength is actually why it got knocked down a peg.
You see, this is a top Wolverine statues list, and in this statue, Wolverine is actually the smallest part. That makes sense when it's the Hulk you're fighting, but if someone's focus is on Wolverine, they might want to look at other statues where he is the focal point.
Still, this is a truly stunning statue, and it stands at a massive 23 inches tall. The maquette from Sideshow recreates the duo's first meeting and does it in impressive fashion. This has been out of print for awhile now, so you're going to have to hit the aftermarket to get one. You can find it on Ebay anywhere from $799 to $999.prevnext
Sideshow Brown And Tan
While there will always be a debate about whether the brown and tan is the best costume, it happens to be on the best Wolverine statue. As part of Sideshow's premium format line, the statue is full of intricate details, both in the sculpt and in the paint application. The statue also comes with two different portraits, which came in masked and unmasked versions.
The statue stands at 20 inches tall and 11 inches wide since it's been out for a bit, you'll have to secure at outlets like Amazon, where it is currently going for $509.99.
Still, it's hard to put a price on something this stellar, right?
