It's safe to say that Marvel and Star Wars are two of the biggest enterprises currently under Disney's umbrella. And with both Marvel Studios and LucasFilm churning out good films year after year, the past works of both companies are constantly finding new fans.
It turns out, however, that one of Marvel's stars isn't among them. Tom Holland, who plays Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, recently revealed during an interview with Yahoo! Movies that he has yet to see the original trilogy of Star Wars films.
"I'm not a huge Star Wars fan," Holland explained. "I am a fan of the new ones. I thought Rogue One and Force Awakens were dope ... I just for some reason skipped the original Star Wars."
This is particularly ironic given that one of the most memorable lines Holland had in last year's Captain America: Civil War directly referenced the Star Wars universe. During the airport fight, Peter cited a scene from the 'really old movie, The Empire Strikes Back' as inspiration for a move against Scott Lang/Ant-Man (Paul Rudd).
But according to Holland, one portion of the Star Wars films were an integral part of his childhood - the prequel trilogy.
"And I’m even more embarrassed to say that I loved those movies when I was a kid." Holland joked. "Everyone’s like, 'What? You liked those movies?!' But I thought they were great."
