"I'm Mary Poppins, y'all!"
It's the phrase which has become the most iconic of all movies from 2017, to date. Yondu, gracefully levitating his way to the ground while holding onto his arrow and belting out to his fellow Guardians of the Galaxy that he is, in fact, the cinematic icon known for floating with her umbrella, in one of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's best moments.
Now, the actor who brilliantly brought Yondu to life in the Marvel Studios sequel has found Mary Poppins herself and posed for a photo.
The awesome photo posted to Rooker's Instagram account comes with an even better caption. "She's Mary Poppins, y'all," Rooker wrote before, "Just kidding," with a hashtagged version of, "I'm Mary Poppins, y'all."
That's right, Rooker and his Yondu character will go down as this generations coolest Mary Poppins! In fact, the line from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has become so iconic that writer/director James Gunn has vouched to have Rooker appear in the upcoming Mary Poppins movie!
Prior to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, one could have made the argument that Rooker was best known for his role on AMC's The Walking Dead, despite starring in the original 2014 film. Following the sequel, this will no longer be the case. The actor stole the show for the epic ensemble film which saw several talented actors playing a band of misfit characters trotting around the cosmos of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
