The New Addams Family Film Gets Its First Funko Pops

The Addams Family is returning to the big screen with an animated film set for release on October 11th. This gave Funko the opportunity to expand beyond The Addams Family TV series Funko Pop figures they released earlier this year. Why they haven't released figures based on the popular '90s films is anyone's guess, but we'll take what we can get.

The first wave of The Addams Family (2019) Pop figures is now available to order online right here at Hot Topic (on sale for $9 each no less). The collection includes Gomez, Morticia, Wednesday, Pugsley, Uncle Fester, and Lurch with Thing - and they look pretty fantastic. In other Halloween-appropriate Funko news, Funko added two new Disney villains to their line of FunkO's cereals yesterday. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and Hades from Hercules have joined FunkO's cereals based on Ursula from The Little Mermaid and Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas. Each cereal comes with a Pocket Pop prize inside.

At the time of writing, the #894 Elvira, Mistress of the Dark Funko Pop figure is available to pre-order right here via Hot Topic (exclusive) with shipping slated for September 12th - 23rd. It's a deluxe Pop that features Elvira reclining on her red sofa. Needless to say, this Pop is an absolute must-have - reserve one while you have the chance. If you miss out, you'll have to rely on eBay.

Getting back to The Addams Family, the film is directed by Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon and stars Oscar Isaac (Gomez), Chloe Grace Moretz (Wednesday Addams), Charlize Theron (Morticia), Finn Wolfhard (Pugsley), Allison Janney (Margaux Needler), Nick Kroll (Uncle Fester), Elsie Fisher (Parker Needler), Aimee Garcia (Denise), Bette Midler (Grandmama), and Scott Underwood (Mitch). The official synopsis reads:

"The Addams Family lives are turned upside down when they realize the town next door is suddenly full of uptight suburbanites led by an over-the-top TV host who is trying to build the perfect world- her way! – and who will stop at nothing to get rid of a freaky family like the Addams. If that's not bad enough, Wednesday has to go to public school for the first time, and Pugsley has to prepare for a big performance that the extended Addams family from across the globe will be coming to judge. What could possibly go wrong?"
