Would it be a fan’s greatest dream, or perhaps a nightmare? Finding out a decade later that you are in a Marvel movie you never thought you’d appear in – but it’s also the one that’s considered to be one of the worst Marvel movies ever made, if not the worst. Well, that’s exactly the reality that one fan is currently living in, and he’s going viral for it!

Reddit user “Fantastic Jerome” posted a thread titled “I just found out I’m technically canon in the Marvel Universe (Fantastic Four [2015]). Wild.” In it, he describes how he “filmed a short scene in Fantastic Four as a security guard at the Baxter Foundation. It was a quick moment. Reed Richards walks in, says ‘He’s with me,’ and as they pass my desk, he looks back and says, ‘Thanks, Panno.’ I replied, ‘No problem, Mr. Richards.’”
Didn’t take the internet long to verify that the claim was true and spot “Panno” in his brief moment of glory. Check that out below!
Marvel Fans Demand ‘Justice For Panno’

After sharing his story, “FantasticJerome” went a step further, asking the Marvel fan community how to approach Marvel. He made it clear that he doesn’t want to “make a big deal out of it, just to say thanks, and maybe ask if there’s ever a spot for a background character like Panno to return.” He isn’t hoping for a starring role or anything – in fact, his hopes seem to be soberly in line with his performance history, as he wants Panno to show up again “just to badge someone in again or get another one-liner. Maybe even a comic panel in the new [Fantastic Four] comic series.”
In a time where everything on the internet can be dark and mean-spirited, there’s been a surprising amount of support for Panno from the Marvel Reddit community. “We need a Marvel Legends figure! Justice for Panno!” writes u/ChochMcKenzie, while others have suggested a range of Panno merchandise from action figures to a limited edition Funko Pop of top value. Other fans have echoed the sentiment that Panno should pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe somewhere, be it a cameo during Avengers: Doomsday that sees him alive and well in his home universe, or a future role as the Baxter Building desk clerk in a Fantastic Four movie sequel within the rebooted MCU that follows Avengers: Secret Wars. One fan did the kind work of creating a concept art comic panel of Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom attacking the Baxter Building, and having to deal with Panno!
Other users have gone so far as to posit that Panno could be revealed to be a keystone Marvel character: Axel Asher, aka “Access.” Access became a cosmic figure with a very specific job: keeping the Marvel and DC universes separated from one another. It would be the wildest arc ever to go from obscure bit character in a failed Marvel film to catalyst for an MCU vs. DCU crossover event.
In any event, this Reddit post seems to be blowing up (at the time of writing this), and there are some commenters who indicate that the buzz could actually result in some kind of traction from a PR firm and influencers, if not Marvel Studios. It’s pretty safe to say, though: the MCU has a new fan-favorite supporting character.
