This Friday, Apple TV+ Will debut a brand new sci-fi movie that has been eagerly awaiting its premiere since last year. Purchased by the company after the Toronto International Film Festival, All of You takes a sci-fi approach to the romance drama. In the film, science has found a way to match people with their soulmate, which complicates thing even more for a pair of old friends that haven’t quite addressed their real feelings (played by none other than Ted Lasso‘s Brett Goldstein and Outer Range‘s Imogen Poots). Speaking with ComicBook about the new film, the pair opened up about developing the idea and finding their chemistry together on set.

“It was just the idea of that me and Will Bridges, my cowriter and the director of the film were discussing just relationships,” Goldstein revealed. “He was about to get married. It was this idea we have in our culture that there’s one person for you and how insane that is when you analyze it like that one person can fill all the gaps you have and and answer all your problems and make everything right. Like it’s kind of insane. And then there are these people in your life who aren’t your wife, girlfriend, partner who you also have a relationship with, who you have a connection with. And what is that? What is this the these best friends? Like what is this thing between them? And we kind of wanted to explore that over time. And this concept allowed us to do that.”
In the film, Goldstein and Poots play old college friends that are still in touch and clearly have some feelings that aren’t exactly spoken about out lout. The pair noted that their chemistry on screen was found easily ahead of production, and made selling the relationship easy.
“I think it was during rehearsals we hung out,” Poots revealed about their on-screen report. “We spoke a bit on the phone prior to the movie, which was important, I think, just to get to know one another. And then we did some rehearsals and it was just hanging out. It’s just like the in-between parts where you get to know someone. I don’t really remember like a beginning, middle, and end. We just suddenly like were and that that was a really cool feeling.”
“Yeah, I think that’s exactly why I wanted to do it with Imogen, I knew immediately,” Goldstein added. “I was like, ‘Oh I already feel like we’re old friends. Let’s do it.’”
For the Marvel fans, Goldstein did offer a cheeky response about his potential MCU future. When asked if he was keeping “all of you” in Hercules shape (fulfilling the promise made by Thor: Love and Thunder‘s post-credit scene tease), the actor laughed and said: “I’m always keeping in Hercules shape.”
All of You premieres on Apple TV+ this Friday, September 26th.
