While we haven't heard much official news as of yet about 20th Century Fox's Fantastic Four reboot, here's a piece of good news. 20th Century Fox creative consultant Mark Millar just tweeted, "Just off the phone with Fox and some excellent news - Matthew Vaughn is producing Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot!" The Fantastic Four movie is being directed by Josh Trank, who burst onto the scene with Chronicle in 2012. The found footage superhero film Chronicle was a surprise hit at the box office and a really entertaining film. Of course, Matthew Vaughn was the director of the excellent X-Men: First Class. He was also both the director of and a producer on Kick-Ass, which was another excellent comic book movie. Since Chronicle was filmed for an estimated budget of around $12 million, the Fantastic Four movie is going to be Josh Trank's first really big budget movie. Having Matthew Vaughn involved as a producer is a smart move by 20th Century Fox, because he can provide guidance and direction for the young filmmaker. We have a feeling that Josh Trank will likely create something magical with Fantastic Four, and having Matthew Vaughn producing will only make it even better.
