Variety is reporting that Sony and Paramount won’t have a Hall H presentations this year at Comic-Con. “It wasn’t a knock against Comic-Con, the film cycles just didn’t allow it,” a spokesperson told Variety.
The two studios apparently don’t have any material at this time that would entice fanboys/fangirls so they decided it was wise to skip it this year. Remember, it can cost a studio a few hundred thousand dollars to promote films at Comic-Con.
Last year, Sony promoted Pixels and Goosebumps at Comic-Con, while Paramount promoted Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar.
