The Jedi Order, the peacekeepers and guardians of the Star Wars universe, has included countless powerful and memorable characters throughout its history. While many of the most well-known Jedi, like Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mace Windu, have had extensive screen time, some of the more obscure but extremely powerful Jedi have only appeared in a single film. Despite their limited that relegated them to the sidelines, these Jedi all have incredible skill, wisdom, and mastery of the Force and have left an impression on fans who learned more about them in the animated series, comics, or novels.

From a calm Jedi Master who sacrificed herself for Padawan to a legendary mentor who discovered a prophecy-fulfilling child, these characters prove that a Jedi’s power isn’t measured by their screen time.
5. Jocasta Nu

Jocasta Nu, the Chief Librarian of the Jedi Archives, may not seem like a powerful Jedi on the surface, but her knowledge and control over the centuries of historical and philosophical information of the Jedi Order were second to none. Her quiet confidence and deep understanding of the Force’s connection to knowledge made her the perfect guardian of Jedi history. Her singular appearance in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones depicts her as stuffy and upight, refusing to believe the possibility of a missing planet in her archives.
While her power was not through lightsaber combat, her role as the keeper of the Jedi’s collective knowledge was essential. In the Star Wars: Darth Vader comic series by Charles Soule, Jocasta Nu has her moment to shine and is shown to risk her life for the sake of securing Jedi knowledge and keeping it away from the Empire (with the use of a very cool lightsaber rifle). She was a master of Force Sense, able to discern the truth of history and artifacts, and her intellect was a weapon in its own right.
4. Depa Billaba

Depa Billaba, a member of the Jedi Council, was a wise and respected Jedi Master. She had a deep connection to the Force and was known for her exceptional skill in lightsaber combat, particularly her mastery of Form IIIโSoresu. She was Mace Windu’s apprentice and later took on Caleb Dumeโ who would become the future Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrusโ as her Padawan. Depa Billaba’s serene and calm personality his the incredible skill she weilded.
Her one appearance in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, shows her seated on the Jedi Council. While her time on screen was brief, her legacy has become one of the most important among the Jedi. During Order 66, she sacrificed her life to save Kanan from the Clone Troopers by fighting them off and giving him the chance to escape. This selfless act cemented her as a powerful and compassionate Jedi Master whose legacy lived on in Kanan Jarrus and his heroics.
3. Shaak Ti

Shaak Ti was a Togruta Jedi Master and a member of the Jedi Council, known for her grace, wisdom, and remarkable abilities. She was a skilled duelist who was a master of Form Vโ Shien/Djem So. Her calm and collected nature made her a reliable and respected figure within the Jedi Order and among her fellow Council members. Her distinctive tall and long montrals and white facial markings made her stand out.
Her single live-action appearance in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones shows her skill on the battlefield, where she led troops during the intense and chaotic Battle of Geonosis. Her composure under fire and her bravery were on full display, representing everything a Jedi Master is meant to be. Shaak Ti’s dedication to the Jedi Order and her strong connection to the Force are undeniable and further explored in the animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
2. Aayla Secura

Aayla Secura, a Twi’lek Jedi Master, was a skilled and agile warrior known for her exceptional lightsaber skills and cunning strategies. Her fluid and acrobatic fighting style was a testament to her mastery of Form IVโ Ataru. She was a charismatic leader who commanded the respect of her clone troopers. Her iconic blue skin and lekku made her one of the most visually distinctive Jedi.
While Secura technically appears in the background during the Battle of Geonosis in Attack of the Clones, there was only one live-action single scene that is focused on Aayla Secura in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. After Palpatine enacted Order 66, she became a tragic victim, betrayed by the very clone troopers she fought alongside.
1. Qui-Gon Jinn

Qui-Gon Jinn, a wise and maverick Jedi Master, was known for his strong connection to the Living Force and his disregard for the rigid rules of the Jedi Council. He was a master of lightsaber combat and a compassionate mentor to his Padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi. His unique approach to the Force led him to discover the prophecy of the Chosen One and the young boy who he believed was the prophecy referred to: Anakin Skywalker.
As a character with such a legendary legacy, it’s hard to believe that Qui-Gon only appeared in a single film. Star Wars: The Phantom Menace established him as one of the most powerful and influential Jedi in the entire saga. His duel with Darth Maul was a display of his skill, connection to the Force, and patience, and his last words went on to change the trajectory of Obi-Wan’s life. Qui-Gon’s legacy extends beyond his death, as he became one of the first Jedi to achieve immortality by learning to retain his consciousness through the Force.
