Arrow Season 4 NYCC Sizzle Reel: Five Things We Learned
This weekend, fans got a pretty good look at what the future holds for many of their favorite [...]
RAY PALMER IN CRISIS
We've already seen that sign outside of town which assumes the man dead -- a not-unreasonable assumption given the fact that he was consumed by a giant explosion in the Arrow Season Three finale.
But what we see now is that we apparently won't have to wait long for Brandon Routh's Ray Palmer to return -- and when he does, he's not looking so hot.
...Well, he's Brandon Routh, so he's still looking hotter than most. But you get the idea.
Could he be contacting Felicity somehow while experiencing size-shifting? Could they be doing some kind of adaptation of Sword of the Atom? Who knows...whatever's up, it's intriguing.
prevnextNYSSA v THE DEMON'S HEAD
The Heir to the Demon is going to be squaring off with Malcolm Merlyn, the new Ra's al Ghul, sooner than later.
At Comic-Con International: San Diego this summer, Stephen Amell told us that he hadn't yet filmed any scenes with Malcolm...but it seems as though Katrina Law has, as we see her swordfighting with John Barrowman in Nanda Parbat.
Is this a blood feud, or just sparring? Is it because he killed Sara -- or because people want to bring her back?
prevnextDOUBLE DOWN
We get to see a little more from Double Down here -- and see that, yes, he's got the same sort-of silly gimmick he has in the comics.
Whereas we saw him in the Season Four trailer (and saw him get his butt kicked by Felicity while she's wearing a dress and heels), here we get a better look at him and also see his card-throwing abilities at work.
This all seems to mesh with the sense of fun, adventure and general comic-book-ness that Arrow has gained from the success of The Flash.
prevnextTHE WOMEN OF TEAM ARROW
Are we seeing a new iteration of the Birds of Prey?
After Huntress teamed with Canary in Arrow Season Two, we've had no follow-up and rumor has it the whole Felicity-as-Oracle thing is off the board.
In the sizzle reel, though, we see a long shot of Sara Lance and Laurel Lance both in costume as their respective Canary identities as well as Thea Queen/Speedy, back to back and ready to face...something.
prevnextSECRET IDENTITY SHENANIGANS
Even now that Oliver has been twice acquitted of being the Arrow, it seems there is some doubt as to whether or not he's Green Arrow.
Lance, obviously, knows what's going on, but it seems his identity will be a recurring thing this season: Damien Darhk looks ready to unmask the bound Green Arrow in one shot in the sizzle reel, while in another shot, Echo Kellum's Mr. Terrific struggles to get his head around whether or not there's a chance Ollie really is a masked vigilante.
Who knows? Maybe Stephen Amell will finally get his "I am Iron Man" moment...!
