Disney has released a first look at "Frozen Ever After," a new ride based on the hit animate movie that will pen in Epcot Center next year.

The ride will replace the Maelstrom at Epcot's Norway pavilion.

"What we try to do is take you back to the movie without retelling that story," Imagineering creative executive Kathy Mangum told the Wall Street Journal of "Frozen Ever After," while leading a virtual tour of the attraction. "This is a celebration of the characters, a way for guests who love the film to experience it in a completely different way."

The ride features no new songs, but does include new lyrics to old songs from composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson Lopez.

"Frozen Ever After" takes place during the Arendelle's winter festival, which takes place during the summer. The festival allows citizens to celebrate their favorite season of the year during its seasonal opposite.

The ride features animatronic characters from the movie, including Marshmallow, the formerly evil snowman.

Disney is hoping that the Frozen attraction will help boost Epcot's flat attendance numbers.

"If the goal is to give people a taste of something like Scandinavia with the Norway pavilion, then Frozen would only increase the extent to which people would be drawn to it," said chief operating officer Tom Staggs. "To me it doesn't seem out-of-character at all."
