Doctor Who: Matt Smith Reportedly Set to Cameo in New Season

The British press is reporting that Eleventh Doctor Matt Smith will make a brief appearance in the upcoming series of Doctor Who, growing back out his trademark floppy hair to have one last time-travel-enabled conversation with his companion Clara. A show source told the Mirror: "Doctor Who's sidekick Clara, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, is struggling to accept that Capaldi is still her Doctor when she receives a phone call from Matt, which he made prior to his regeneration. It sounds confusing but he is ringing the future from the past and wants to assure Clara this new man is still Doctor Who." Of course, any "show source" that refers to The Doctor as "Doctor Who" is probably somewhat suspect, so take this with a grain of salt until it's confirmed. The Mirror claims The Eleventh Doctor's phone call will be seen early in the run, expected to air in the fall.
