While most studios tend to take a no comment policy when it comes to casting rumors revolving around their movies, Twentieth Century Fox is taking the unusual stance of strongly denying a recent rumor. Yesterday, Latino Review reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger would be playing the bad guy in Avatar 2. Given that Latino Review accurately scooped Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon in Guardians of the Galaxy and was first to name the actor that eventually landed the Flash role on The CW, their report on Arnold Schwarzenegger spread quickly online. However, according to the Hollywood Reporter, a Twentieth Century Fox spokesperson said that Schwarzenegger "will not be in the sci-fi sequel nor is the actor being considered for any role." Of course, if we've learned anything it's that studios will sometimes deny things that later wind up turning out to be true, but Fox certainly doesn't appear to be allowing any wiggle room in this particular denial.
