Guardians Of The Galaxy Soundtrack Officially No. 1 On Billboard 200

The Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack has officially hit number one on the Billboard top 200 charts.

The album sold 109,000 copies in the week ending Aug. 10, up 83 percent from last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The film's soundtrack has been highly praised both for the quality fo the 1970s rock songs that it features, and for the way those songs factor into the film itself.

We reported earlier that the album also topped the Hits Daily Double album sales charts.

Guardians of the Galaxy is now playing in theaters.
