Iron Man 3 Battered and Bruised

Last week, Don Cheadle revealed that Iron Man 3 would soon be doing some re-shoots. Because Iron Man 3 is set to be released in less than four months, many had speculated those re-shoots might just be something for an after-the-credits scene. However, Hollywood Orchid Suites has posted some information to their Facebook page (via ComicBookMovie.com), which sort of makes the re-shoots sound like a brand new additional scene in the movie. Hollywood Orchid Suites posted, "It is going to be an exciting weekend here at the Hollywood Orchid Suites as 'Iron Man 3′ is filming additional scenes in Hollywood on January 21, 2013. Film crews plan to shoot wide-angled shots from cranes positioned high overhead "to capture the full scope, color and liveliness of Hollywood" while they "blow up" Grauman's Chinese Theatre. There will be flashes of light, debris being propelled out of the courtyard towards the street and about 30 cars driving by with obligatory fender benders. The shoot will cause street closures on Hollywood Blvd., between Highland Ave. and Orange Dr., Highland Ave. and McCadden Pl., beginning on Monday, January 21, 7:00 p.m. through Tuesday, January 22, 4:00 a.m. and possible increased noise from generators, cranes, film crews, etc." The information certainly fits with other information that we've heard about Iron Man 3. Grauman's Chinese Theatre was recently renamed to TCL Chinese Theatre, and TCL just announced a big product placement deal with Iron Man 3. It would make sense that a clever way to get their logo in the movie would be to show the TCL Chinese Theatre. Also, back when Iron Man 3 was filming in Wilmington, NC, a local company revealed that they delivered 22 theater seats to the Iron Man 3 production that were to be featured in a scene involving a terrorist attack on a theater in Afghanistan. Could it be that producers decided to re-shoot that scene in Hollywood after TCL got the naming rights for the Chinese Theatre? Or could it be possible that multiple movie theaters get blown up in Iron Man 3?
